Abstract: Titanium alloys have been extensively used in advanced industries including aerospace, biomedical, marine, body implants, medical equipment, etc., owing to its unique characteristics. However, these very properties pose several inherent difficulties, to make them difficult to machine materials. High-speed milling is effectively used for machining them. The productivity and quality play important role in the life of the product. The effect of the machining parameters on the same has been investigated in this study. Taguchi's approach has been used for designing the experiments. Since, the responses considered are conflicting in nature, the optimum is difficult to achieve simultaneously, and hence optimisation has been carried out using TOPSIS and TLBO. The result showed that TLBO found to have better optimal values than that of TOPSIS with the optimal machining performance of MRR is 19,004 and 27,270 mm 3/min, whereas surface roughness 1.093 µm and 2.20 µm, with TLBO and TOPSIS method, respectively.
