Abstract: There has been a long-standing interest in the study of knowledge transfer among researchers. The paper proposes a conceptual model for understanding factors that influence on knowledge sharing and organisational effectiveness. A comprehensive literature review was conducted to link potential relationships. This paper puts forward several propositions that bring key forces involved in sharing knowledge for organisational effectiveness. This paper postulates a number of influential relationships among the constructs which have an impact on effectiveness in organisations. The conceptualisation of the proposed relationships between forces, knowledge sharing and organisational effectiveness are expanded, using IT as a moderator in the linkage. By proposing a conceptual model, this paper provides a number of practical implications to enhance our understanding on organisational effectiveness from the knowledge management perspective.
