Abstract: In this paper, an extensive study on the operation, control and performance of a hybrid photovoltaic and wind turbine system is presented. The study includes the operation of the hybrid system under different weather conditions which are reflected as a change in the wind speed and irradiance. Various loading conditions are investigated such as a change in active and reactive power demands for static and dynamic loads. The performance of the hybrid system is examined via MATLAB/SIMULINK simulations.
