Analysis of the impact of the increase of production volume on the material supply system and work in process through simulation scenarios

Abstract: In this work, we present a detailed analysis of the improvements that are required when a company needs to increase its production capacity. For this a computer simulation model of the current situation of the company was developed, which will be called KS, where 430,000 pieces are currently produced for the general motors (GM) model, and the future situation, with the double of parts. The company where the research was developed presents problems of overwork in process and it is foreseen that the problem will be more complicated when increasing the production volume, for this reason, simulation is considered as the ideal tool for the analysis of this problem; specific. Through different experiments in the model, a solution to these problems was observed and the satisfactory production volume of eight hundred and sixty thousand pieces was achieved.
