Abstract: This research aims to study the contemporary reality imposed by the internet on travel agencies in Lebanon and to know how this sector can face these challenges. A survey was conducted among travel agencies through 87 questionnaires distributed to agencies spread across different Lebanese regions. Findings showed a serious risk of substitution of Lebanese small and medium-sized travel agencies by the internet as travel intermediaries. The study resulted in many recommendations at the public sector level and the private sector level that need to be adopted in order to ensure the survival of Lebanese travel agencies in the internet era.
