The development and application of a configuration model of web-based shopping systems
by Changsu Kim, Robert D. Galliers
International Journal of Electronic Business (IJEB), Vol. 4, No. 1, 2006

Abstract: There is both technological scepticism, for the most part in social science circles, and technical optimism, found often in the engineering and computing fields. Each perspective provides a partial view and therefore appears to be inadequate in providing a balanced examination of the characteristics of WBSS. The intention of this research is that, by considering both business and technical perspectives in developing and applying a WBSS configuration model, an initial step will have been taken toward a more balanced debate on the role of ICT in Web-Based Shopping, and more widely in electronic commerce in general.
