Green demolition certification
by Bradley Guy
International Journal of Environmental Technology and Management (IJETM), Vol. 6, No. 3/4, 2006

Abstract: This paper describes a proposed certification as a means to validate 'sustainable' building removals by a government agency or building owner. It may be used for several purposes such as: pre-qualifying a contractor, issuing a deconstruction permit, documenting waste diversion goals, or for awarding incentives. Certification is awarded to any project meeting all prerequisites and earning 25 or more credits from a total of 50 maximum credits available, with two bonus credits that may be used to make-up a deficiency in any particular credit category.
