As local community is one of the primary stakeholders of the industry, the CSR policy and practices of the industry have to give them top priority. In the present empirical study, the perception of the local community on CSR, who resides near the vicinity of the coal mines of Odisha, has been taken into account and critically examined the CSR activities of Mahanadi Coal Field Ltd.
