International Journal of Product Lifecycle Management (IJPLM), Vol. 1, No. 2, 2006

Abstract: The paper presents some approaches to using an interval constraint solver as a basis of a distributed collaborative design system for CAD. A precise statement of the problem is given; possibilities for using additional information to facilitate the solution search are described. A number of techniques, taking into account additional information, to reduce the distributed problem to the local one and solve the latter (approximate) problem are described.
