Abstract: Research into the economic contribution of copyright networks has revealed the impact that industrial groups have on financial performance, the added value created and the increased number of employees generated by this industry, whilst excluding any evaluation of the relationships that exist between the industries and sectors that operate in a copyright network. Drawing on the Economic Theory of Copyright and on Network Theory, the aim of this research is to address the question of how to determine the economic contribution that copyright industries have on individual nations, by means of an approach based on Network Theory applied to evaluate the relationships between the economic sectors belonging to the copyright network in Italy. In this research, a mixed method design was used to gather both quantitative and qualitative data in two phases. The results show that it is possible to introduce a new investigative model for copyright-based industry networks.
