Abstract: In this study, a model of hybrid powered unmanned aerial vehicle (UAV) is proposed and simulated. The proposed system comprises of some units such as fuel cell, battery, power control, DC/DC buck-boost converter, permanent magnet synchronous motor (PMSM). Proton-exchange membrane fuel cell (PEMFC) is used as main power source. Also, Li-ion battery is used as supplementary power source as well as power charging unit. PMSM is the propulsion source for proposed UAV. Control of PMSM is realised with direct torque control method. Voltage regulation is provided by DC/DC bidirectional buck-boost converter. The simulation of proposed UAV model is achieved in MATLAB/Simulink software. According to simulation results, proposed UAV model can be used for actual applications.
