Abstract: In this paper, control strategies are proposed for photovoltaic system connected to the grid. The solar panel is connected to DC link through power converters. Control methods of perturb and observe (P&O)-proportional integral (PI), fuzzy logic-PI, and optimisation of these controllers using particle swarm optimisation (PSO) and genetic algorithm (GA) for MPPT control of photovoltaic generator (PV generator) are proposed, and a PI controller is used to maintain DC-link voltage constant under different conditions. Simulation results under different environmental and operating conditions are presented and discussed to verify the satisfactory performance of the proposed control strategies, in which the optimised fuzzy-PI controller by PSO algorithms gives the better performance specification regarding the other methods.
