A TSST of the mean of exponential model with minimum cost of experimentations

Abstract: The present paper deals with a new two-stage testimator of exponential mean θ which is obtained by considering a two-stage procedure with appropriate shrinkage weight function. The testimator is based on two classical estimators: by the use of different censored data and by choosing the region R in three different ways when a prior estimate θ0 of the mean θ is available from the past. Computer intensive calculations for bias, mean squared error, relative efficiency, expected sample size, the probability of avoiding the second stage sample, and the percentage of overall sample saved expressions show that for different values of the first and second stage samples, for different values of levels of significance, and for varying the constants involved in the proposed estimator, the proposed TSST fairs are better than the classical and existing two-stage testimators.
