International Journal of Automation and Control (IJAAC), Vol. 11, No. 2, 2017

Abstract: The purpose of this paper is to present the results of a comparative study of two different least squares (LS) approach for identification of fractional order systems. The first one is based on repeated fractional integration and modal approach and the second one is based on Grünwald approximation. Both methods are explained in detail and identification algorithms are elaborate. Obtained results are used to initialise output error (OE) technique. Illustrative examples are presented to show the practically usefulness of the two proposed approach. Comparative remarks between the two methods are also given.
