Abstract: Today's companies are facing increasingly intense competition in their industry markets. Developing collaborations is an important way for them to maintain competitiveness. One important aspect of developing collaborations is to locate and select suitable partners, especially for OEMs (Original Equipment Manufacturers) who often need to initiate collaborations with their suppliers. This results in a desire for effective and efficient supplier selection. With the development of information technologies, especially internet technologies, OEMs can now source and select suppliers on the internet, on an international scale. This new environment has brought with it many new opportunities as well as new challenges and has made supplier selection more complicated. The objective of this paper is to propose a new approach for online supplier selection, based on state of the art literature and existing industry practices.
