Commercialising wireless sensor networks technologies
by Ping Lan
International Journal of Technology Marketing (IJTMKT), Vol. 1, No. 1, 2005

Abstract: This research examines how Wireless Sensor Network (WSN) developers are commercialising their technologies. Over two dozen WSN pioneers were analysed. The study found that most companies are operated in the paradigm of open innovation, which enables them to shorten the gap between technology development and commercialisation. However, barriers do exist for these companies to build up and strengthen their disruptive footholds. To catch the opportunities brought about by the emerging technology, it is particularly important for WSN developers to synergise their technology and business innovation.
