Effect of alkali metals (Li/Na/K) on optical performance of manganese coloured glass

Abstract: The purpose of this paper is to study the alkali metal ions on the optical performance of manganese coloured glass. The paper presents the study by changing of the quantities of alkali metal, Li/Na/K, in glass melting. The analyses of spectrum transmittance and chroma index have been carried out on the different sample plates obtained in the glass melting. The test results indicate that the optical performance and chroma index of this manganese coloured glass are largely depended on the factors such as concentration of different alkali metal and the ionic radius size.
