Abstract: Despite the heavy dependence upon contemporary teleconferencing systems by the business community, the user experience can be less than adequate. This paper describes a framework called Conferencing3, which leverages 3D audio spatialisation offering greater clarity, improved distinguishability between the individual participants, a personalisable audio listening space and the ability to add indexes with text descriptors into the conference. To the knowledge of the authors, this is the first reported mobile solution offering interactive 3D, both audio and graphical, support for conferencing on commercially available wireless devices. In addition, a unique approach is offered for 3D visualisation and browsing of archived sessions.
