Abstract: The Brundtland Commission's report in 1987 defined sustainable development as development which meets the needs of current generations without compromising the ability of future generations to meet their own needs. On the basis of this statement Travel Demand Management policies have been proposed with the objective of changing travel behaviour and therefore increasing transport systems efficiency. Teleworking has been one of the strategies adopted to reduce the number of peak-period trips thanks to the help of the new technologies. However, the world of business is changing and so are the new workers. Today, the concept of flexible workplaces is gaining more and more ground and professionals are more willing to travel, even with the aim of reducing the stress due to routine. In this respect, the concept of workplaces has changed during the years and transport terminals are supporting this new trend. Indeed, this manuscript deals with this new era of workplaces for a sustainable mobility.
