Abstract: This article contextualises the activities related to the 'sustainable' tourism and presents a model of sustainable governance for the hotel industry, as one of the tourism industry's sectors. The applied research method is the deductive one, applied, and based on secondary data. It centralises its focus in the literature definitions for hotel industry and sustainable development and identifies predominant use of these mechanisms in environmental management. The proposed model considers measures on three levels, i.e., on the strategic, tactical and operational levels as well as the measures considered as 'cross-levels' measures.
