Investigating public awareness and perception towards environmental protection and waste management practices - evidences from emerging economies

Abstract: The paper investigated the public awareness and perception towards environmental protection, waste management and recycling aspects. 171 respondents were interviewed in Sultanate of Oman with reference to their awareness and perception towards environmental aspects. The results revealed that the respondents positively aware and perceive the environmental aspects selected for the study. Further analysis revealed that: 1) respondents have high awareness of environmental protection aspects; 2) high perception towards recycling aspects.
