Abstract: The Peng-Robinson equation of state (PR EOS) can accurately describe both the liquid and vapour phase. We present several applications of this equation of state with the aid of Mathcad, including estimation of pure component properties, computation of vapour-liquid equilibrium (VLE) and isobaric diagram for a binary mixture. In addition, high-pressure chemical-equilibrium calculations are performed. An example of an adiabatic flash computation is also presented.
