Abstract: The present study is an attempt to explore the associations between the psychological empowerment, organisational commitment and quality of work life amongst 180 middle-level executives. The sample respondents were from the Indian industrial sector of information technology (IT). Means, standard deviation, correlation analysis and hierarchical regression analysis, using the SPSS 16 were administered on the sample. The study provides strong empirical relationship among constructs of psychological empowerment, organisational commitment and quality of work life. Employees displayed higher organisational commitment when they perceived organisation as a desired place to stay which fulfils their basic needs and takes care of their well-being. The findings show that psychological empowerment significantly affected the relationship between organisational commitment and quality of work life. The theoretical considerations to the research and practical implications for Indian industry are discussed further.
