Abstract: Recent research advances in green supply chain management (GSCM) have thrown exciting opportunities for new dimensions of the subject to evolve. Individual findings, when pooled together, raise possibilities of further research yielding altogether new management practices with potential affirmative ramifications for environment and industry. This paper strives to scrutinise a sizable quantum of literature on GSCM to identify techniques for critically analysing various aspects of GSCM implementation and their prospective categorisation, implications and complications. Substantial literature on GSCM is prominently identified with application of techniques like AHP/ANP, ISM, TOPSIS, DEMATEL etc. to evaluate performance of the GSCM measures adopted, selection of suppliers, undertaking barrier analysis, mechanism formulation/implementation, inter-relationships between factors and generic/standard exploration of the intricacies of GSCM. Categorising the literature, on the basis of these six categories and their further investigation to assess prospects and deficiencies, extend an opportunity to the furtherance of our knowledge on GSCM practices.
