Abstract: The ecological, social and competitive pressures have caused the companies, across different industries, struggling to combat with global challenges for continuous growth and profitability. Recognising the need to embrace the environmental sustainability in their business strategies, many have adopted the green principles. In this paper, findings of two case studies conducted on the green supply chain management (GSCM) practices are reported. Interviews were conducted to explore how the trend of green practices has redefined the ways manufacturing firms compete. This paper offered an in-depth understanding of the key issues on the firms' green supply chain initiatives and their environmental performance. For examples, how these manufacturers successfully incorporate green strategy (e.g., design for resource efficiency and recycling) in their companies. This paper contributes to the body of knowledge by addressing GSCM in electronic-related manufacturing industry particularly in the Southeast Asia setting.
