International Journal of Environmental Technology and Management (IJETM), Vol. 1, No. 3, 2001

Abstract: The scope of this paper was to explore the present state of the art on the issues of transport and the environment in Greece. Among the numerous studies available in Greece that are relevant to the issues of transport and the environment, a selection was made, considering studies that aimed at an amelioration/rehabilitation of the urban environment of the capital, as well as studies that were very important, representative, diverse and already at an implementation stage. The studies were presented according to their intrinsic characteristics, namely, problem definition, policy options, theoretical assumptions, method and data and their meta-characteristics, i.e. scientific innovation and contribution to real policy-making, as specified in the TERM project.
