Abstract: Most of the localisation technique in WSN suffers from error during localisation of the mobile nodes. In order to overcome this issue, we propose localisation technique based on particle swarm optimisation technique. In our proposed technique, we implement expected hop progress metric which helps to determine the distance between different mobile nodes within the transmission range in WSN. The particle swarm optimisation algorithm is used to determine the fitness function in the form of localisation error. The value with the least localisation error is considered as Gbest. The advantage of using the PSO-based localisation technique is that it provides with most accurate location information.
