Abstract: As the HIV/AIDS pandemic continues to grow through a third decade, the need for to prepare future social workers and allied health professions for practice with those infected and affected is of paramount importance. This article features a case study of HIV/AIDS in the USA focused on HIV prevention and treatment practice challenges. Seven modules are integrated throughout that highlight practice needs and challenges of vulnerable populations including women, children and youth, sexual minorities, racial and ethnic minorities, persons that are incarcerated, and persons with substance use disorders or mental health challenges. Each module is accompanied by additional readings and sample discussion questions designed for easy use by educators. The article concludes with suggested recommendations for content integration into social work and allied health courses, and next steps for content integration.
