Abstract: In this paper, a node deployment strategy for maintaining energy balance in a sector-based network is proposed. Nodes distribution in the sector area is done on proposed methodology and the validation of the distribution is proved analytically. Selection of a head node in a cell area is done using selection factor metric by considering real-time losses. A scheduling technique is also adopted for data transmission that aims not only to utilise energy efficiently but also aims to avoid energy hole around base station. This method gives better results in terms of energy consumption and enhances lifetime of the network. The results are compared on load distribution and energy consumption pattern for single and multi-hop network.
