Abstract: This paper presents a CAD model for the design of casing for offshore applications and the results are utilised for the selection of appropriate connections in CwD. In our CAD model, the input parameters are the pore pressure and fracture pressure and we analyse various cementing procedures and arrive at selection guidelines to ensure that final choice is time efficient under the use of wire line retrievable bottom hole assembly or drillable drill shoe. Additionally, we analyse the casing design in the environment of integration and study the influence of casing design on BOP selection, production casing, and CwD rig, etc. Finally, we present a design example from real field with four casing, total depth of casing from sea bed 11,000 ft, and BOP with pressure rating of 10,000 psi, etc. [Received: May 3, 2013; Accepted: December 15, 2013].
