Abstract: The Egyptian society in addressing the enduring problem that faces its labour market; which is mismatch between the demands of the labour market and the education output. The aim of this paper is to analyse the degree of awareness that Egyptian academicians have regarding knowledge management (KM), and thus identify the level of implementing practices of KM processes in private higher education institutions (HEIs) in Egypt. Data was gathered using questionnaire from the two private HEIs in Egypt. Results have shown that six KM processes were moderately practiced in the private HEIs. Moreover, most of the surveyed respondents were not aware whether their institution was having a KM system or not. Furthermore, the statistics results has shown that the highest mean score was knowledge dissemination, while the lowest mean score was for the knowledge capture. It is important to note that better knowledge management would inevitably lead to better education at the macro level. This paper raises the attention to how important it is to implement KM processes and to formally establish and communicate KM initiatives within the HEIs concerned.
