Abstract: The aim of this study is to offer a method for estimating overall equipment effectiveness (OEE) in continuous production lines. For this purpose, the subjects of continuous production and equipments effectiveness have been integrated, and by using the number of equipments and common parameters in calculating the required number of equipments and OEE indicator, an equation has been obtained for estimating OEE. A sample of data of machines in Esfahan Steel Company has been used for investigation, which includes wastes rate, production rate, and stoppage rate. Findings indicate considerable savings and equipment utilisation can be obtained, simultaneously.
