Abstract: This paper presents an investigation on irreversible refrigerator cycle based on external and internal irreversibilities considering finite heat capacities of external reservoirs. Finite temperature difference of the working fluid and external fluids causes the external irreversibility. The internal irreversibilities are caused by regenerative heat loss. Two objective functions including the coefficient of performance (COP) and has been considered simultaneously for maximisation and the normalised entropy generation rate of the refrigerator is minimised at the same time. Multi-objective evolutionary algorithms (MOEAs) based on NSGA-II algorithm has been employed while the Internal irreversibility parameter (I) and the temperatures of the fluid exchanging heat with the reservoir at the temperatures TH(Th) are considered as decision variables. Pareto optimal frontier has been performed and a final optimal solution has been chosen using various decision-making methods as well as the fuzzy Bellman-Zadeh, LINMAP and TOPSIS methods.
