International Journal of Teaching and Case Studies (IJTCS), Vol. 6, No. 1, 2015

Abstract: The case asks the student to analyse the design of the brick manufacturing process. By the end of the case study, students should be completely comfortable with the analysis of the deterministic system controlled by the automated management system, including the effects of the kiln tunnel and its setup restrictions. The case is intended to be a review of the rudiments of process analysis, including the capacity of the factory, which is the core of the operations management course. The manufacturing process is relatively simple, but it is still tricky to analyse it. The brick manufacturing technologies are also included to help students understand the brick industry. The student is put in the position of the CEO, facing the dilemma of building and operating a new factory that produces eco-friendly bricks.
