Abstract: Proper disposal of e-waste by implementation of reverse logistics is a potential area of research for controlling greenhouse gas emissions, global climate change and landfills. The consumers serve as the starting point for product acquisition in reverse logistics. However, previous researches show that most of the consumers prefer storing their e-waste at home to returning it to producer and thus lowering proportions of e-waste available to producer for disposal. This research work aims to ascertain consumer preferences in order to strengthen acquisition of e-waste from them. Therefore, in order to motivate consumers to return their mobile waste, the paper present a brief review of the perceived barriers, collection models and the desired incentives from the perspective of consumers themselves, followed by the research methodology, results and ends with scope for future research.
