Abstract: The purpose of this study was to determine whether a statistically significant impact exists between management sophistication and certain factors, such as, for example, company size, business activity, ownership, etc., and between selected economic indicators. The study was conducted with the aid of quantitative research methods on a dedicated sample of 98 Slovenian companies. A questionnaire to assess the management of corporate policy was used for the acquisition of data. We found that the majority of the individual components of management sophistication in managing a company's corporate policy had a statistically significant impact in terms of the company's size, profit and added value per employee. A higher level of management sophistication in managing corporate policy depending on the type of capital was found in companies that have either foreign or mixed capital. The results of the study will be useful for both theorists and practitioners in the field of organisational policy as well as for those engaged in strategic management in companies and other organisations.
