Abstract: There have been rigorous attempts for over a decade now to conceive and implement e-governance. These attempts have been successful too, in spite of a number of obstacles. The application of e-governance has been expanding as well from one function to another function and from one sector to another sector showing its growing acceptance. A host of e-governance applications have undertaken corrections improving its content, approach and results that fetched it awards for excellence. There have been occurring e-governance related incidences simultaneously, which remain by far quiet and insignificant in terms of its magnitude of impact but have strong consequences on the credibility of electronic governance and hence its sustainability, if not taken cognisance of now. The present paper identifies these occurrences and its threatening consequences through a survey of e-governance beneficiaries of select Indian sectors suggesting managerial and a host of other dimensions that may help sustain its EAT features and may stop erosion of its credibility which manual governance met with in the past. It therefore needs revisiting e-governance from the point of view of managing technology for its effectiveness.
