Abstract: The objective of this report is to evaluate the effects to groundwater by diversion of solid wastes from landfills. The focus is directed to the diversion of solid wastes from construction and demolition landfills associated with deconstruction and demolition projects. The environmental benefits of this diversion are discussed including groundwater contamination issues. Additionally, diversion methods and techniques are presented.
