The responsive-integrative framework, outside-in and inside-out mechanisms and ambidextrous innovations

Abstract: This study contributes to the emerging subjects on MNC operational mindsets to ambidextrous innovations by measuring how inside-out and outside-in mechanisms predominate over Taiwanese SBU development capacity of exploratory and exploitative innovations. A survey methodology was adopted to gather the data from 183 leading multinational financial institutions. An average of two or three groups of managers and straight-line employees in each bank participated in the survey, and 292 groups and 483 effective questionnaires were obtained. This study concluded with specific relations between the three types of HQ-SBU interaction modes and their mechanism portfolios that directly affected organisational ambidextrous innovation capability.
