Censoring-based cooperative spectrum sensing with best relay

Abstract: In centralised-relay-based cooperative spectrum sensing (CSS), both the sensing channels and the reporting channels may suffer from fading, which will greatly deteriorate the detection performance. Based on the prior work, in order to save the system cost, a censoring-based CSS with best relay was proposed from the point of actual demand, where, only when the target secondary user (SU) has detected the primary user (PU) signal and its reporting channel is deeply faded, the target SU will request for relay's cooperation. In order to validate the system performance by the proposed scheme, we further analyse the detection probability and the false alarm probability as well as the secondary throughput over Rayleigh fading channels. We show that, the suggested best relay selection scheme can make the better performance. The detection probability can be improved, and when assuring sufficient protection to the PU, the higher secondary throughput can also be achieved.
