Abstract: This study was conducted to identify factors influencing the adoption of cloud technologies from the perspective of the benefits, opportunities, costs and risks (BOCR). Analyses were performed using DEMATEL which allows seeing the cloud adoption factors on a micro scale. The data was collected by conducting discussions with IT decision makers in the two companies engaged in the mining service sector, namely PTDH and UT, which represented the medium- and large-scale enterprises respectively. By involving both companies, we aimed to explore the impact of organisational characteristics to the cloud technology adoption. The results showed that the adoption of the cloud technology is strongly influenced by organisational characteristics. Internal characteristics of organisations that most influenced the adoption of the cloud technology are the availability of resources, followed by the organisational structure, availability of experts, and support of management in the organisation.
