Abstract: A mobile device was used to phosphate steel and aluminium pieces of different sizes and geometrical shapes. This device can disperse and apply the phosphate solution on metallic substrates used in the automotive industry. This process was carried out without the use of a dip cell. We obtained coatings with a good adherence and thickness and an acceptable corrosion resistance. The morphology and composition of the coatings were studied using SEM and X-ray diffraction.
