Views and attitudes of Burgas's residents (Bulgaria) for paper recycling

Abstract: The present study aims to examine the views and attitudes of Burgas' residents in Bulgaria. The research was carried out with the help of structured questionnaire; and the method of personal interview was used. In particular, it explores the views and attitudes of residents of Burgas on recycling, their views and attitudes on the cleanliness and waste management in the city and their knowledge regarding these issues, as well their willingness to pay for higher municipal taxes in order to support the paper recycling programmes. Totally 385 questionnaires were answered. From the results it was proven that the residents of Burgas are sensitive to the issue of recycling. The use of recycled paper is accepted for most part of the population. The majority of residents of Burgas are willing to support financially the recycling programmes.
