International Journal of Global Energy Issues (IJGEI), Vol. 6, No. 3/4/5, 1994

Abstract: Proceeding from an analysis of the present energy system of Lithuania, the prospects for economic development and its main influencing parameters are investigated. Comprehensive data on the actual situation of the primary energy supply, the conversion into intermediate forms and the final consumption is provided, based on latest official information. For the next steps towards a market economy, the official energy pathway for Lithuania is analysed and additional projections are given on the basis of a macroeconomic model for the transition period. Special emphasis is put on the influences of pricing policy and structural changes in the energy sector.
