Cheap, clean, European transport fuels

Abstract: Every economic sector in the European Union would benefit from the adoption of the novel Liquid Solvent Extraction (LSE) process for making clean liquid transport fuels from European coal. The process was developed by British Coal with assistance from the THERMIE programme of the EU's Directorate General for Energy (DGXVII). It is ready for commercial demonstration. And the EU needs to promote its urgent exploitation by initiating plans for a full commercial demonstration of an LSE plant now.
