Abstract: New and improved industrial technologies have a tremendous role in enhancing productivity, minimising waste, reducing overall energy consumption, and mitigating environmental impacts. The electric utility industry plays a major role in developing these new and improved technologies. This paper describes several major advances and their potential impacts.
