CAE tools for piezoelectric sensors
by Reinhard Lerch
International Journal of Computer Applications in Technology (IJCAT), Vol. 5, No. 2/3/4, 1992

Abstract: A computer-aided analysis tool for electromechanical sensors and actuators is presented. The modelling scheme introduced is based on piezoelectric and acoustic finite elements as well as acoustic boundary elements. This CAE tool supports the development of a variety of electromechanical transducers. As an example, the optimisation of ultrasonic phased array antennas as used in medical imaging equipment is reported.
