Abstract: This paper discusses a viable approach to improving decision-making in the event of an employee takeover. The multi-faceted technique of simulation is presented here as a viable technique in such an event situations. Once enacted, the model is demonstrated through sensitivity analysis to be a critical asset in long-range planning. The usefulness of simulation modelling is enhanced by its widespread applicability to any mergers or acquisitions, foreign or domestic. Specifically, a 'real-world' example of these methodologies is presented in this paper. The Volkswagen Stamping Plant located in the south-east region of the United States provided the focus of this research effort. A simulation model was developed to improve the decision-making capabilities of the employees during a proposed takeover. Further, sensitivity analyses were then conducted to demonstrate the enhanced usefulness and viability of long-range planning efforts.
