Abstract: The sustainability of a product is evaluated using the product sustainability index (ProdSI) methodology. This methodology is based on the total product life-cycle and a 6R approach. When it comes to product information models, it is difficult to extract required information to evaluate certain elements of ProdSI from the currently available geometry-based product data models. This paper discusses the development of an integrated product information model that will provide all such information, and will facilitate the ProdSI assessment process. The proposed model combines information about geometry and topology along with function, behaviour, manufacturing processes and product sustainability related information.
