A reliability model of combustion engine
by A. Golabek, P. Wisniewski
International Journal of Vehicle Design (IJVD), Vol. 17, No. 2, 1996

Abstract: This paper presents the assumptions and dependences describing a model for the test and estimation of the machine reliability considered as the hierarchic structure system. The system components - objects of the examination - were considered on the various levels of the system decomposition. The machine was represented either by the general or part models, built considering the taken criterion. In the paper, the considered problem is applied to a fuel engine. The test scope is limited to reliability features resulting from a failure (Golabek, 1992; Barbet, 1982). The part model for the defined engine cross-section is described; the procedure algorithm is given; and conclusions are presented.
